Space Tank Studio bring the future to your creative practice

At Space Tank Studio we want to bring tradition and technology together; now thanks to the support of ThingLab, that dream is a reality.

Space Tank Studio is proud to now offer the MakerBot® Replicator® 2 to artists, designers and inventors. The MakerBot Replicator 2 has one of the largest build volumes at 1040 cubic centimetres of current desktop FDM 3D printers. It is a fast, easy and affordable tool for making professional-quality models and prototypes and accelerates your design process.

The MakerBot Replicator 2 Desktop 3D Printer is optimized for PLA Filament, which is a bioplastic

derived from corn. It is an easy to use material and performs well on most prints without peeling, curling, sliding or shrinking. Smooth to touch, the MakerBot Replicator can 3D print up to 100 micron layer resolution – as thin as a sheet of paper – and provides an impressive surface finish that can be displayed as is or painted or finished to suit your desired effect. The finished print is a sturdy model that can withstand shocks and falls and can be glued, drilled, filed, sanded and painted.

“This is an awesome development to have Thinglab support us with the MakerBot Replicator 2 and it will be an important part of Space Tank’s service to the art and design community,” said Holger Dielenberg, founder of Space Tank Studio. “Our goal of integrating 3D printing as a core service is a real win for all artists, designers and inventors who use our studio space.”
